6th Grade Administrator
Dr. Keri Tawater
Keri Tawater has served students and parents in education for 19 years as assistant head of school, academic dean, ELA curriculum director, sole mentor for a federally funded grant at Mississippi State University, adjunct professor for both The University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University, a teacher of a state-tested subject area, and a coach.
Dr. Tawater holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi as well as a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from Mississippi State University.
Dr. Tawater and her family were looking for a district to invest deeply in. They know they found that at BVMS and can’t wait to become a part of a learning community that continuously strives for excellence.
Sixth grade is a very special time in a young person’s life and Dr. Tawater feels blessed to be entrusted with such an honor to serve as the sixth grade administrator this year. She is looking forward to working closely with teachers, parents, and students to achieve shared goals.
