The Gulfport School District Board of Trustees proudly recognized outstanding community partners and exceptional students during its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday evening.
Partner-In-Education Awards
As part of the district’s ongoing commitment to building strong school-community relationships, Superintendent Glen East presented Partner-In-Education Awards to businesses, organizations, and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional support for Gulfport schools. These partnerships play a vital role in enriching educational opportunities and strengthening the district as a whole.

William “Prince” Jones Scholar Awards
The board also proudly recognized the recipients of the William “Prince” Jones Scholar Awards, which honor two senior student-athletes who exemplify excellence in academics, athletics, and leadership.

The award’s namesake, William “Prince” Jones, was in attendance at the meeting, making the recognition especially meaningful for students and their families. Gulfport School District Athletic Director Matt Walters announced the award recipients, and Jones joined Walters in personally presenting the awards to the honored student-athletes.
